Overview

Problem

The goal was to create a browser game that feels less like a traditional game interface and more like operating a real investigative workstation.

Solution

Designed and developed a simulated police operating system where players investigate cases through specialized applications, including email, CCTV, forensic reports, case management, and an investigation board.

Target Audience

Lessons Learned

Detective Files showed me how interface design can become the core gameplay mechanic itself. Building the workstation as the game world required treating navigation, information hierarchy, and application interactions as part of the game design.
